Shawn McAteer | Managing Partner

After 33 years with Hilton as an executive leader , Shawn McAteer has landed with BlueTop to jump start 2026. Having retired with Hilton, he was the senior vice president and global head of DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Grand Vacations. As the global head of DoubleTree, McAteer was responsible for the strategic direction, vision, and performance of this fast-growing, global portfolio of nearly 710 upscale hotels in 61 countries across six continents. As the global head for Hilton Grand Vacations, McAteer was responsible for the strategic partnership and ensuring mutual success between both companies.

Following his father's footsteps to pursue a career in the hotel business, his long tenure with Hilton boasted roles  that supported Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Curio Collection by Hilton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Signia by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton and Embassy Suites by Hilton. McAteer was responsible for each brand's hotel performance and owner support teams, brand sales and hotel openings. He also provided strategic direction to several groups, including brand development, project management, new product and service development, various commercial functions, and quality assurance. During his time with DoubleTree by Hilton and Embassy Suites by Hilton, he helped grow guest loyalty and market share to some of the highest points in the history of the brands.

Prior to moving into corporate brand management with Hilton, McAteer worked in both operations and revenue management positions at the property level for Hilton Hotels & Resorts for more than 10 years.  McAteer graduated with a degree in hospitality administration from Florida State University. Outside of the office, McAteer can be found watching college football, spending time with his wife and dogs, golfing and traveling.
